CARMEL, NY – Putnam County Executive released the following statement welcoming Maureen Fleming as her Democratic opponent in November’s election:
“I welcome Maureen into the race and look forward to a substantive campaign on the issues. I am proud of our record. We have the lowest tax bill of any county in the state and we’ve kept taxes and spending low even as we’ve reduced our long-term debt by 15% and eliminated our short-term debt. Plus, we have made key investments in revitalizing the Putnam County Golf Course, Tilly Foster Farm and Educational Institute as well as laying the groundwork for both the Mahopac-Route 6 and Danbury-Brewster sewer projects that will bring renewed economic vitality along the Route 6 corridor, creating jobs and improving the quality of like for all our residents. There is still much more work to be done, but I’m proud to say that Putnam County is heading in the right direction and I’m more excited than ever for our future.”
