With severe weather events becoming more frequent, it is important that Putnam residents are prepared and know what to do in an emergency or disaster.

Please find below information regarding the Citizens Preparedness Training being hosted by the Office of Governor Cuomo and Putnam County Executive Mary Ellen Odell.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo launched the Citizens Preparedness Corps Training Program to train approximately 100,000 New Yorkers in the proper preparation for emergencies or disasters.  The program seeks to provide citizens with the tools and resources they need to prepare for emergencies, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. (sign-in will open promptly at 10 A.M)

Participants must register at www.prepare.ny.gov

Participate in the training, receive disaster preparedness tips, and receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit, limited to one-per-family.  The training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster.
