The Putnam County Chambers of Commerce (PCCC), the county’s largest business organization and primary advocate, voice, and resource for the business community, announced today the names of the 38 business professionals who will be recognized for their outstanding successes at the 5th annual Trailblazer Awards at Mahopac’s Villa Barone Hilltop Manor to be held on February 26.  Tickets may be purchased online for $75 each at putnamchambersny.org. Additionally, there will be silent auction at the event to raise funds to support cross-county Community Development Projects throughout 2015 and 2016.

“Each year the Trailblazer Awards gets better and better, with more participation from across Putnam County and featuring the innovations of local business owners and organization leaders,” said Jennifer Maher, Chairwoman, Putnam County Chambers of Commerce.  “The PCCC strives hard to make a difference in every commerce district in Putnam County, and we believe strongly that working together we can and will make our county a better place to live, play and work thanks to the efforts of these professionals.”

“This year’s Trailblazer honorees showcase the amazing things that are going on in Putnam County,” said County Executive MaryEllen Odell. “The business community is the backbone of the county. Our small businesses and nonprofits provide our jobs, services and quality of life. With the help of the Putnam County Chambers of Commerce my administration has worked on key issues affecting our business community. For instance, Putnam County Moves, the county transit system, is increasing traffic flow to businesses and attractions in the county by making it easier for our residents to get there.”

The Trailblazer Awards program honors Putnam County business owners and business employees who have gone above and beyond in one of the following categories: Emerging Trailblazer, Established Trailblazer, MWBE Trailblazer, and Pillar of the Community Trailblazer.

“The nominees put a lot of time and effort into the application process,” said Nat Prentice, Putnam County Chambers Board Member who coordinated the judging process. “On behalf of the judges, I’d like to thank all the individuals who submitted what turned out to be record number of excellent applications.”
